Supporting Recreation and Regional Impact
Sports and recreation play an important role in building healthy communities, supporting tourism, and enhancing quality of life. The Sports and Recreation Grant Program helps provide opportunities for residents and visitors to participate in activities, events, and programs that strengthen the region and encourage people to experience everything the Worthington area and Nobles County have to offer.
By supporting sports and recreation initiatives, the program helps encourage community engagement, attract visitors, support local organizations, and create experiences that benefit the region as a whole.
Powered by the King Turkey Day Run
The annual King Turkey Day Run serves as the primary fundraiser for the Sports and Recreation Grant Program. Through registrations, sponsorships, and community support, funds raised from the event are reinvested back into sports and recreation opportunities throughout the region.
By participating in or supporting the King Turkey Day Run, businesses, residents, and visitors directly contribute to projects and initiatives that strengthen recreation opportunities and community experiences across the area.
About the Sports & Recreation Committee .
The Sports and Recreation Committee helps organize the annual King Turkey Day Run and oversees the Sports and Recreation Grant Program. Committee members work to support projects and initiatives that enhance recreation opportunities, strengthen community quality of life, and encourage visitors to experience the Worthington area and Nobles County.
The committee is made up of volunteers who are passionate about supporting sports, recreation, tourism, and community engagement throughout the region.
