Annual Community Events

Inflatable Turkey

King Turkey Day

Don’t miss Worthington’s King Turkey Day celebration in September. For more than 80 years, this event has attracted thousands of people to Worthington. Start your day at the free pancake breakfast. During the Great Gobbler Gallop live turkeys are raced down the street in a friendly rivalry with Cuero, Texas. A delegation from Cuero brings a turkey to challenge Worthington’s famous turkey, Paycheck. Right after the gallop, one of the area’s largest parades kicks off. Hundreds of people gather along Worthington’s Tenth Street to catch the action. A featured speaker, 10K race and carnival are all a part of King Turkey Day festivities.

Regatta Sails - Forward Worthington

Windsurfing Regatta & Music Festival

The best windsurfing and music in the Midwest! We've reserved a spot for you on the beautiful shores of Lake Okabena, along Sailboard Beach. Each year, the Regatta strives to promote the windsurfing industry, racing and recreational sailing for national and international participants. The festival is free to the public. You'll have a front row seat to the windsurfing races, experience tasty eats, and of course stay for the music.
