Helping New Residents to Thrive in Their Transition
We want you never to feel like outsiders in a new town, but to quickly become connected, thriving community members!
Some of the things we can help you with
Hobbies/Interests
What do you enjoy doing in your free time? What will that look like in the Worthington Area? I'd love to chat with you about how you can get connected to the people who have similar interests and the places you may enjoy the most.
Housing
I can correspond with you on the rental availabilities that I know of. We have wonderful realtors in the area that will also be incredibly helpful. Here is our Rental Guide (PDF), which is a brochure listing the local apartment complexes in Worthington and the surrounding area.
Childcare
You can search for area childcare and early education providers statewide at PARENTAWARE.ORG. The staff at Southwestern Minnesota Opportunity Council can also be helpful in this search.
Education
From preschools, to public school, to Christian School, to Catholic School, to community college, to Community Education programs for all ages, I can help you get the answers to all of your questions so that your family transitions well and flourishes in their learning environments.
Jobs
We can talk about your experience and get you networking with the right individuals. Indeed, Minnesota Works.Net and Jobs HQ are fairly comprehensive sources for job listings. Call CareerForce in downtown for further assistance!
Volunteering
Sometimes, one of the most effective ways to get to know a community is by volunteering where help is needed! We have some amazing people in our town, and it's a great experience to work alongside others that are meeting needs.
